I've waited for this material's proper release since 2002, the raw sound makes this record even more charming and nostalgic for me. Cheers.

A BIT OF INFO ABOUT THE LATEST BF CLAN RELEASE - "STRIKE"!!!
This is an album of unreleased tracks from the Clan, music recorded during the period 1998-2002. The oldest being "Nervous",recorded in 1998 and part of a whole album, which never got released and in fact the tracks then got lost in the Grafitti studios vault. Quite tragic, but at the time we had a very meaty manager/sponsor, who lavished tons of cash on parties and studio time for us and other acts (Plastic Hi Fi, Wougang In Traffic, Sycotribe, Stain) , but was bizarrely anal when he had to pay for the master tapes and artwork. Not much got released, although he paid for Plastic Hi Fi (the former Pyromania) to record in Amsterdam with Roberto Adani from Project 2000, who turned out to be a bit of a cunt from what I heard. In any case we felt the album we had recorded wasn't all that great and scrapped it. Bit of a mistake that, but hindsight's a wonderful thing, eh! Actually we thought it was ok, but then the bass player returned from a trip to Chile, where he'd been listening to local ska bands and told us our music was too depressive and he was sick of it, which was ironic since we actually had a couple of ska tracks on that very album, written in 96-97. Anyway, we then all decided it was shit and jettisoned it forthwith. "Euphoria" is something we did right after, inspired by our friend and amazing drummer Tsuro, who sadly passed away a few years ago. This has Vassil Voutev (D2, Plastic Hi Fi, Pyromania) on percussion and our current drummer Dakata bashing out some ferocious live drum'n'bass/jungle beats. All the other tracks were done in 2002, with a view to putting them on the follow-up to our acclaimed "Romantica" album. They were played live in the studio by the whole band, with a few overdubs added later. These were meant to be the "demo" versions, but they sound good enough in their on right and we were after a more raw sound anyway. Chandrasonic of ADF said they sounded to him like a mix of Wire and Magazine, which was interesting and a compliment. We also got kudos from the Stereo MC's, who we played a few shows with at that point. The track "Imbeciles" was, I think, the last one we recorded, before realizing our management at the time (PR Net, who also did Wickeda, Animacionerite, Ostava and a ton more)) were now short on cash and couldn't really invest properly in the new album. Yes, that's right - despite everyone LOVING us so much (we kept hearing that), no one came up with the cash to finance the new record. So we put the Clan on hiatus and me and Charlie took the title of that last song for our new electro-punk-hop project Imbeciles, which landed us a record deal with the Only Lovers Left Alive label
